The Sokoto State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of one Fauziya Rabo over an alleged case of physical assault on her domestic assistant, Bashariyya Usman.
In a statement released on Wednesday by the command’s spokesperson, DSP Ahmad Rufai, the police disclosed that an official petition prompted immediate action, leading to the arrest of the suspect who is now in custody.
The case, which has generated considerable public concern, involves accusations of domestic abuse. The command assured the public that a full-scale and impartial investigation was currently underway.
“The Sokoto State Police Command strongly condemns any form of domestic abuse or violence.
“Justice will be pursued in accordance with the law, and all parties involved will be treated fairly, without bias or prejudice.”
While urging the public to refrain from circulating unverified information, the police reiterated their commitment to transparency and promised to keep the public informed as the investigation progresses.
The statement further said the Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Musa, restated the command’s dedication to upholding human rights and enforcing laws that protect the dignity and safety of all residents.
