An actress and content creator, Kemi Ikuseedun, better known as MummyWa, has shared a refreshingly honest take on beauty and self-worth
Speaking with Sunday Scoop, the content creator revealed that beyond the laughter lies a woman deeply committed to authenticity and emotional balance.
“For me, beauty is not something you perform, it’s something you live. As Mummy Wa, I wear my wrapper and attitude with pride, and that in itself is beautiful. Society might say beauty is slim waist, fair skin, or perfect edges, but I’ve learned that beauty is peace of mind, a good heart, and the courage to show up as oneself even in one’s most ridiculous wig. Confidence is the real filter”.
While many know her for her comedic roles and exaggerated “African mother” character, Ikuseedun was quick to remind fans that being funny doesn’t make her immune to pressure or fatigue.
“Making people laugh is my job, but it doesn’t mean I’m fine all the time. Behind Mummy Wa’s loud voice and funny facial expressions is someone who needs rest too. I protect my peace by disconnecting often, spending time with real friends, praying, journaling, and sometimes just pressing phone in peace without creating content. I’ve also learned to say no without guilt. Because even comedians get tired”.
