Former Chairman of the Ekiti State Traditional Council and the Alawe of Ilawe Ekiti, Oba Adebanji Alabi, has appealed to the mobile telecommunications service provider, MTN, to intervene and restore quality services to his community.

Oba Alabi noted that MTN services in Ilawe Ekiti, the headquarters of Ekiti Southwest Local Government Area in Ekiti State, had been poor and frustrating for over two months, and he called for the urgent attention of the telecommunications company.

The monarch, in a complaint letter to MTN titled “Report on MTN Poor Services in Ilawe Ekiti… The Need for Urgent Rectification,” made available in Ado Ekiti on Sunday, stated that subscribers in the community were already agitated.

The Alawe said, “I am constrained to bring to your notice the poor and frustrating services of MTN in Ilawe Ekiti, Ekiti State, after waiting for about two months for improvement.

“The situation is so bad that MTN subscribers can no longer have smooth conversations on the phone. Either the caller at the other end cannot hear what is being said, or the call fails to connect altogether.

“My people are agitated, and I have to bring the matter to your notice for proper intervention and repairs before the agitation gets out of control,” Oba Alabi stated.
