A former Nigerian ambassador to Thailand, Oma Djebah, has congratulated President Bola Tinubu and the Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, on their two years in office, praising their “visionary and courageous leadership.”
In a statement issued on Thursday to celebrate the second anniversary of both administrations, Djebah commended the Tinubu-led Federal Government for implementing bold economic reforms that, according to him, have laid strong foundations for sustainable growth.
“The two years of the administration of President Tinubu at the federal level and Governor Oborevwori at the Delta State level have been significant, recording impactful accomplishments and milestones in critical aspects of development,” Djebah stated.
Djebah, a two-time commissioner for information, also referenced an editorial by the Financial Times of London, which praised Tinubu’s economic policies.
He noted, “The FT commended President Tinubu’s bold and courageous economic policies for putting ‘Nigeria in better shape than at any time in the past decade,’ where ‘investors do not live in constant fear of a devaluation and can readily access dollars.’
“The Renewed Hope Agenda of President Tinubu has focused on inclusive development, investments in education through the student loan programme, improvements in healthcare, job creation, agricultural expansion, and the establishment of critical infrastructure.
“It has also laid a template for regional development, as seen in the activities of various Regional Development Commissions.”
The diplomat lauded Governor Oborevwori’s achievements in Delta State, particularly his strides in infrastructure.
“In Delta, Governor Sheriff Oborevwori has demonstrated exceptional courage and determination. His administration has delivered critical infrastructure—roads, bridges, schools, and healthcare facilities—that are vital for development and growth.
“As the administration clocks two years, I applaud Governor Oborevwori’s impactful leadership and his commitment to advancing the state through the M.O.R.E. Agenda, which has led to visible progress in road construction, educational access, and youth empowerment,” he noted.
Djebah described the combination of Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda and Oborevwori’s M.O.R.E. Agenda as “a driver of sustainable growth and transformation” and emphasised that both leaders have made “notable milestones” in just two years.
“As they mark this important milestone, I wish them continued wisdom and strength to steer the affairs of our dear nation and our state. May this anniversary be a fruitful celebration and a renewed commitment to the overall aspirations of the people,” he stated.
