Saudi Pro League giants Al-Hilal are inching towards the signing of Victor Osimhen after increasing their offer to €75m to meet Napoli’s demands, and are looking to have the player’s medical soon, PUNCH Sports Extra reports.
According to Belgian journalist Sacha Tavolieri, an agreement between Osimhen and Al-Hilal over personal terms is in place.
Tavolieri claims that Osimhen has accepted an offer to join Al-Hilal on a three-year contract, where he will earn £25.9m per year during his time with Simone Inzaghi’s side, totalling £77.6m over three seasons.
Before their latest offer, Al-Hilal were €5m short of Napoli’s demand but have accepted to pay the striker’s full release clause and are now waiting on the Italian club, as they look to complete the player’s medical as soon as possible.
The striker almost joined Al-Hilal last summer before the deal collapsed.
According to reports, If Al-Hilal are quick, they will be able to use Osimhen at the FIFA Club World Cup, with the mini-transfer window created for the early part of the summer before the tournament closing on June 10.
Al-Hilal want Osimhen signed in time to play at the Club World Cup, with talkSPORT recently claiming there is a belief they could allow a permanent or temporary departure for the former Fulham centre-forward Aleksandar Mitrovic.
Signed to Napoli till 2026, Osimhen is bound to leave the club this summer after his relationship with the club’s hierarchy broke down last year.
As a result of the relationship, the 26-year-old spent last season on loan at Galatasaray, firing them to the league and cup double.
He scored 37 goals and contributed eight assists in 41 games across all competitions.
Osimhen has also been linked to clubs in the Premier League and reports in England are suggesting that Manchester United and Chelsea are losing out on the player as his Al-Hilal move looks imminent.
According to Mail Sport, Manchester United will turn their attention solely to Bryan Mbeumo when it comes to attacking transfer targets.
