Emerging afrobeats sensation, Naya Dane, is making waves with his distinctive sound and message, positioning himself as one of the genre’s rising global ambassadors.
Born Uzoegbu Alexander in Lagos, Nigeria, Naya began his musical journey at the tender age of seven. Over the years, he has cultivated a sound that blends street-inspired energy with contemporary rhythms, setting him apart in a competitive and ever-evolving scene.
Often compared to Burna Boy due to the depth and texture of his voice, the singer isn’t fazed by the comparism.
“It just means they’re listening. But if they really pay attention, they’ll hear that I’m Naya Dane, not Burna 2.0,” he said.
Beyond his music, the singer is also carving a name for himself in the world of fashion. His style has caught the attention of global brands like Victoria’s Secret, H&M, and Chanel. Speaking on the connection between music and fashion, the artiste stated, “Wizkid changed how we dress, Davido showed us how to hustle, and I’m showing how to be real; from the streets to the world.”
Naya also announced that he would be embarking on a tour across Canada, performing in provinces including Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Ontario, and Prince Edward Island.
He also noted that he was working on his new EP titled, My Time, a project he described as “deeply personal”.
He added, “The songs chronicle my journey, aspirations, and evolution as an artiste. This is my time to shine.”
